#Clothdiapers Review : Sweet Comfort in Little Comfort Bambee

CIMG9553_zpsd8c4cc00Have you seen the reviews out there for Little Comfort’s Bambee Cloth Nappy? There have been a slew of them which is a great thing because the more reviews the better prepped you the buyer are on the general consensus of this fitted diaper. Knowing that I had the same diaper to review I haven’t read any of the other reviews. I didn’t want to be swayed or  influenced in my own review. I can’t wait to go and read my blogger friends’ reviews now that I’ve gotten mine out there too.

little-comfort-usa-125x125Little Comfort is an Ireland based company made by a mom. After trying to find a quality and affordable cloth diaper, she successfully created the Little Comfort cloth diaper. Known for its trim fit and reasonable price point Little Comfort’s sailed across the ocean blue and has landed Stateside. One thing that I noticed right away on the Bambee was how soft and plush the diaper was. The diaper hadn’t even been prepped yet but I loved the way it felt on my skin. I was excited to start prepping the diaper because I just knew that the more I washed it the fluffier it would get. Let me tell you it did not disappoint. See the below picture to see the comparison of fluffiness.

The LC Bambee is made from 80% Bamboo and 20% Polyester with a Bamboo/Cotton Fleece so it needs about four washes to be at its optimum performance level. That being said I wouldn’t use it as an overnight after your first washing. Mine has been washed about eight times now and it’s definitely a great overnight diaper. I also like that it comes in a natural looking color with no dyes used.

I think the most confusing thing about the Bambee is probably how it’s sized. It didn’t CIMG9486_zpsc50b076amake a ton of sense to me right off the bat and since my daughter is in the largest size on most cloth diapers I just assumed it would be the same for the Bambee. Let me tell you, they include directions for products for a reason and this one is no exception. Upon further investigation and after a few frustrated uses where the diaper was so big it was gapping around her legs, I realized that my peanut size daughter who weighed in at 20 lbs. at her 18 month appointment needed to be on the size 1 setting for the Bambee! No wonder it seemed to be falling off of her.

The only complaint I have about the Bambee is the absence of hip snaps. Now, had I been using this diaper on my son three years ago I wouldn’t have even noticed the need for hip snaps. My daughter is tiny so naturally the absence of them is noticeable on her. I also really wanted hip snaps when I first started using the diaper but again, I admit that I had the sizing all wrong on that one so that was more user error than a product error.setup-size-1
What I love about the Bambee has got to be the feel of it against the skin. It probably isn’t normal to be doing diaper laundry, pulling out a freshly cleaned diaper and think to yourself, “Gosh, I wish I had underwear that felt like this.” I’ve thought that more than once while putting away my freshly cleaned Bambee. It’s also incredibly absorbent. My daughter sleeps well through the night about 12 –14 hours and we haven’t experienced a leaky diaper once! And you know what they say about wool covers and fitteds; the cover is only as good as the fitted. This fitted is great!CIMG8964_zps5b857a73

The price point for the Bambee is very reasonable. Most fitteds average between $16 on the low end to $30+ on the high end. You can buy the Bambee for $17.95 at select retailers.

  13. If the performance is good color/prints don't matter much but if I still have to choose I would prefer a print.

  32. I kind of like the neutral colors because they don't show up as badly through clothes. But prints are fun too
