Part of losing weight is having workout clothes that fit properly and will make you feel comfortable. I used to think that wearing cotton tees and cotton pants or windbreakers were great workout clothes but after one real workout I quickly realized that hiding in my bagging clothes wouldn't cut it. The problem? I was so hot I couldn't focus! And since I was training with a trainer she couldn't see my form which meant that I was losing the coaching that I needed. Really, I'm telling you if you buy one or two pairs of workout pants or shorts and a few tank tops you're most likely going to stick with that January gym resolution.
Enter pv.Body. The concept is simple: purchase a subscription for $49.95 (with free shipping) and you'll receive a new two piece outfit catered to your personal style. By creating personal relationships with the manufacturers of popular brands such as lululemon, Colosseum, and American Apparel, pv.Body is able to provide you with some of fashion's top fitness brands. Now, if you are a planner, if you love to have control then pv.Body might not be for you as you cannot choose what arrives in your package. I would say that I'm a control freak, however, I found it exhilarating waiting for my pv.Body package to arrive so I could see what fun clothes I could try. What I like about pv.Body is that it pushes me to try new looks in my workout apparel that I probably would not have chosen on my own.
For my first box I received a tank top by Colosseum and black fitness pants from American Apparel. I'm not familiar with Colosseum, however, I do not shop regularly at Nordstrom's or Macy's which are among Colosseum retailers. I am finding that I really love this top! It's tight fitting and the length is perfect, it's long so I don't have to worry about any plumber's crack happening during my boot camp group class at the gym. I was also sent pants from American Apparel. The pants are tight fitting which will be great for outdoor running in the spring when it's a little cool outside. I did feel a little self conscious in my pants during class b/c I'm not used to having pants that are so tight fitting but I have a skirt that I think I'll wear over top of them so I won't feel so much like my booty's on display.
I love this concept from pv.Body and I really like the clothes that I was sent. Had I gone to the store I don't know if I would've purchased the pants b/c like I said I felt a little on display but they're a great addition to my fitness clothes wardrobe and they are very comfortable to workout in. I'd definitely purchase the Colosseum tank from a retailer if I had seen it on the rack so that was a perfect choice for me.
If you aren't happy with the clothes you received you can mail them back (free shipping) within 14 days of receiving them. Here's their return policy. My friend returned some of her clothes for exchanges because they didn't fit and while mailing stuff back and forth was a little annoying she was pleased with pv.Body's customer service.

I love the top! I enrolled their subscription service and received the FedEx notification that I should receive it tomorrow...I can wait to see what is inside.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for introducing me to this company! I love the "surprise" aspect to their shipments and that they are cheap! Same price I would spend at Walmart for super drab work out gear ;-)

DeleteI like how the top is fitted but not uncomfortably tight!! Losing weight shouldn't be about trying to squeeze into work out clothes too!
