@pvbody–Yes, it’s changed, no I didn’t really anticipate it. I’m waiting.

So a few weeks ago I reviewed as well as introduced you all to a fitness clothes subscription service called pv.Body. While I did notice that they mentioned on their “About Us” tab that their creative director Lindsay Daniels was working on her own line of fitness apparel I assumed that if it was affiliated with pv.Body then it would take a while to come out. A few weeks after the review and giveaway was out I received an email from pv.Body talking about Ellie their new line of clothing.

419719_499776713394271_1872372216_nThe way it would work now is that instead of receiving known brand name clothes in your subscribed package you’d receive Ellie clothes making those of you with a subscription to pv.Body a Fit Fashionista Club Member. If you select your clothing preference before the 7th of every month you can choose the clothes you’d like to receive. That’s the part that I liked about the change and I wasn’t really upset about everything changing either.

I haven’t received anything to review for Ellie yet so I have nothing to say about it. I have read a few reviews from others who have already received the new product. You can Google it to see what the reviews are.

My two cents? I’d like to give them the benefit of the doubt. I want to believe that they did not do a bait and switch as other bloggers are claiming. One of my strengths from taking Clifton Strengthsfinder is belief and another is positivity. Those two characteristics can probably be viewed as the Pollyanna in me. They’re a new company, a small business (and I know that the majority of you who are reading like to support small business; after all the cloth diaper industry is based primarily on small businesses) and they've really expanded quickly. To have launched a company in September based on providing brand name clothing monthly to its subscribers and then turn around and have a new line of fitness clothing is really fast. Some are questioning their motives and some are questioning their integrity. I don’t know either and I’m not going to try to guess. You need to decide for yourself and I’ll do the same when I receive the new Ellie clothes.

Let’s take a step back, assume the best and wait to see what happens. Gosh I feel like the middle child saying, “Can’t we all just get along?” I really don’t like conflict nor do I like when I’ve believed in something or promoted something and then it starts receiving terrible reviews from other bloggers. I guess what I’m saying is that I’m letting you know that yes, I’m aware of the “scandal” (which again, I’m assuming the best in the people at pv.Body) and I’m waiting. You’ll notice that I’ve taken down my affiliate link. I’ve done this because I want to wait until I've seen, touched, worked out in and washed the Ellie clothing. Waiting…that’s the name of the game.

  1. Hmmm. I didn't think of it like that at all. I hadn't received my things yet, so I wasn't able to see the old stuff. The Ellie line looks great though, so I can't wait to get it and find out.

  3. I'm the same way. It's easy to jump on the bandwagon and say how horrible it is of this company doing what they did, but we need to wait and see if they're being malicious or if they're a good company.

  4. I love your "Pollyanna" approach! I think you're right to give them the benefit of the doubt and wait and see.

  5. I try to avoid thinking the worse...after all, people can always cancel, if they don't like it, so what's the big deal?

  6. I am guessing they are just disorganized and did not plan things well. I don't think they are purposely doing a bait and switch, but are just not executing this well. Hopefully they are learning a lot from these growing pains!
